DOCET has become a byword in optometric folklore. It is synoymous with quality CET and the provision of significant developments designed to help the busy optometrist retain core skills and knowledge and remain at the forefront of clinical advances in eyecare.
Over the past 10 years or so, these have been brought to you using a variety of learning formats e.g. lectures, workshops, modular distance learning packs, video, cassette tape, CDROM, DVD and online.
We all learn in subtly different ways. Our preferred learning styles will change according to the context and familiarity of the material. The key I believe is to present material in a format that is neither rigid nor constrained but has something that enfranchises everyone. It is inevitable that the range of modalities will develop even further. Having our own web presence will enable DOCET to deliver a greater range of products to a much wider audience at a time that suits them. This is becoming known in e-learning circles as 'Martini learning' - Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere...
