Contact Lens CD-ROMs

In 2004 DOCET produced two Contact Lens CD-ROMs, Fitting Spherical Contact Lenses and Initial Consultation, which were intended to be the first in a series of four. Unfortunately, the company that DOCET commissioned to produce this series went out of business before CD-ROMs 3 and 4 were completed.

Early this year DOCET issued the third CD-ROM, Aftercare and Solutions, and the fourth and final installment, Aftercare and Solutions, has just been distributed.

This CD-ROM covers the fitting of toric lenses, presbyopic correction (including monovision) and an introduction to orthokeratology.  The toric lens section discusses the indications and contraindications for selecting and fitting a variety of toric, and some non-toric, designs used to correct astigmatism, including toric soft lenses and suitable orientation and stabilisation techniques.

The correction of presbyopia section covers a variety of bifocal designs and their fitting, indications and contraindications for new and existing wearers, plus issues relating to Monovision fitting. Finally the programme concludes with an introduction to orthokeratology including indication and contraindications and patient selection.
