During 1999/2000, DOCET appointed Business Excellence International Ltd (BEI) to carry out a five year benchmarking and evaluation study. The study focuses on three areas:
- best practice among optometrists
- the contribution of DOCET-funded courses and distance learning towards achieving professional best practice
- patient and public perceptions of the contribution made by optometrists to national healthcare.
